    • Funny, it doesn’t seem dangerous or threatening though (of course we wouldn’t drive in it).

      We have the December 1-2, 2007 west coast storm that will always be embedded in our memory. Wind gusts well over 100 MPH and sustained wind at around 100 MPH. It even broke the device that tracks the wind speed at 147 MPH in Naselle Ridge. We heard there was a device just south of us that broke at a much higher reading. We truly felt our lives were in danger. It went from a feeling of awe to fear for our lives if just a window were to break. Tree trunks literally flying past the house at 100 MPH or more. The wind sounded like a freight train. You can’t describe something like that to someone. The coverage was on the floods south of Seattle, so people really had no idea what we just went through on the coast.
