Something We’ll Probably Never See Again

A moose in our backyard, so very close to our home. This morning we woke up to Leah saying that there was a black cow in our backyard, outside of our kitchen window. It was a MOOSE!DSC_0007I had to crop most of these pictures in order to see him better. DSC_0008 DSC_0011 DSC_0012See how close he is to our house? We stood outside our back step to take pictures of him. He seemed very calm and curious like a female cow. DSC_0014DSC_0015

We still stayed close to the door…. just in case. We were in such awe while taking these pictures. We still can’t believe it. DSC_0016 DSC_0019It’s too bad our neighbors weren’t home at the time, they would have thoroughly enjoyed it. DSC_0022 DSC_0024 DSC_0025

DSC_0033Just a curious looking guy! DSC_0046Walking away. I was so sad to see him leave. DSC_0063He knocked over our dock – the two pieces completely upside down. We are thinking maybe he used the dock as a scratching post. DSC_0070His big ole footprints. What a memory. I hope we see him again one day.

  1. Hello! What a beautiful blog!! We have moose 90 miles east of where we are vacationing. Sadly they have not been doing well, they’ve been in that part of MN forever. They are putting collars on to find out why they are dying. (north of Duluth MN)
Thank You for visiting my blog! :o)
No, sadly I did not get to raise my daughter Angel’s girls, now ages 17 and 14. Her ex husband is, so we don’t get to see them.
I am raising 2 girls from my 2nd oldest by birth. At the time they were born she was in an abusive marriage. She kept her oldest. Now in a good marriage they have another daughter as well. The 2 I’m raising wrote about my raising them on my blog.
    You have a beautiful family!!
    ((((HUGS)))) and prayers, Eliz

    • Thank you for writing me here! I’m so sorry to hear about the situation with your granddaughters. Thank God they are coming up on 18 years of age… hopefully, they will be receptive to seeing you.

I hope they find out why the moose are dying over there. I just caught up on your latest post and see you are having fun with chipmunks, bats and all sorts of things. : ) I hope you enjoy the rest of the time you have there. Thank you for the compliment, you have a beautiful family too. I’ll be back to visit your blog. Take care..
